Southern hemisphere Alpine Continental Cups underway.
Ski racing is well underway with many national teams having trained in Chile and Argentina now competing in the Southern Hemisphere. The Chilean National Champs were recently held in Antillanca. A venue for both our august and september trips.
Teams then moved onto La Parva for the South American Cup. La Parva links into the Valle Nevado ski area and was a Snoworks destination a few years ago. We hope to be returning there for the summer of 2009. Slovenia nade a clean sweap of the places taking the first three spots in the Super Hiant Slalom.

Undeterred by their loss to Schladming in the battle to host the 2013 World Alpine Skiing Championships, St Moritz, together with Switzerland's skiing federation, has announced that it will be bidding to host the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships of 2015. mre details

International Ski Racers in New Zealand
Some of the world’s greatest names in ski racing are currently training at Coronet Peak In New Zealand’s Rocky Gully Race Arena and will be in the starting gates during this week’s Japanese FIS races at Coronet Peak. more details

BASI AGM
To be held on the 21st Sept 2008, at the Cairngorm Hotel, Grampian Road, Aviemore. 1pm - 3pm, all members respectively invited. If you're keen to see any improvements in BASI you need to be there.

Autumn Gap Course 2008
The Snoworks Gap Course is proving popular for those who want to work for this coming season. The concept of training and qualifying during the autumn then sourcing work for the winter was introduced by Snoworks 3 years ago. This coming autumn is proving to be our most popular so far.

ISIA and ISTD Ski Regulations
To much 'hoo haa' from the BASI membership BASI introduced new ski regulations for both the ISIA and ISTD Technical Courses. The main complaint was that many BASI members had already ordered their skis for this coming season. BASI have now made it compulsory for season 2009/2010 and advised for this coming season.
