8 Weeks. October 25th to December 20th 2008
TRAIN & QUALIFY BEFORE THE START OF THE SEASON

This unique ski gap course allows you to get full training prior to the start of the 08/09 winter with the option of gaining the full BASI Level 2 ski instructor licence. Successful candidates on completion of their BASI Ski Instructor qualification are then free to source work in a resort for the whole winter.

Congratulations to all 2005, 2006, 2007 Gap students on a record 100% success rate. All of whom went on to source work for the winter season.

The 2008 Gap Course will be based in Tignes with superb training high on the Grand Motte glacier. The BASI Level 1 will either be taken in Tignes or Zermatt and the Level 2 in either Courchevel or Tignes.

2008 Autumn Gap Course Programme includes:
Training from Monday to Friday , 6 hours per day with daily off-snow reviews. Weekends free.

• Development of Personal Skiing Performance
• Understanding and Analysis of Skiing Performance
• Race Training
• Shadowing Snoworks i-Skiing Courses; Piste Performance, All Terrain, Race.
• Understanding of Teaching Principles
• Teaching Practice
• Mentoring & Goal Setting
• Off-snow performance analysis & video reviews
• BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor Course (Tignes or Zermatt)
• Transfer to and from Zermatt if required
• BASI Level 2 Ski Instructor Course (Tignes or Courchevel)
• Transfer to and from Courchevel if required.
• Half board accommodation in Tignes, Zermatt and Courchevel as required.
  
• Transfer to and from from Geneva airport at start and end of course.
  
• All Ski passes

£500 deposit payable on booking.

What level skier do you need to be?
Your entry level to the course depends on a number of factors so it's always best to contact us direct to discuss your level.
As a rough guideline to reach the required level within the 8 weeks before arriving you need:
• to be able to ski all pisted runs competently and at a good speed.
• to be able to ski the fall line on black runs.
• to be reasonably fit.
• to have a good mental attitude.
• to be willing to try new things and take on board new information.

Roughly a minimum of 10 weeks previous skiing is a pre-requisite but this can vary. It is really very individual.
